It sounds like a list of things to be checked for shift change?

Let the operators and the maintenance schedule guide you.

Maintenance schedule will tell you what has to be serviced,

Operators will tell you what they want to know before they take over

Hi Triplex,

If you send me your email in a pm, I can send you a 4 page inspection form I've got that I created, plus a single page quick inspection form. It is for a 5k or 10k overhead.

Hi triplex74,

you failed to mention the brand, model and year (age) of your mobile crane. therefore, it is quite difficult for anyone to help you here. please be aware that this is a safety issue of prime importance. do not trust strangers' ideas (even from well-meaning ones in this forum!) when it comes to matters of life-and-limb and property.

the best approach you need to do is get hold of the crane's operating manual. you will find the wealth of information there, and craft your turnover checklist from it. the checklist will then be specific and increases your level of confidence about your work.

if in doubt, considering the age of your crane, consult the manufacturer. only they are the best resource for you.

I won't forget that line someone said here: "I wouldn't design a safety belt with info from this forum."

HTH!

I agree wholeheartedly with your approach.

While I will send the docs, it is as a template only, to be tailored to fit the actual equipment.

and if possible I will note the equipment on the form that it was intended for, so it will have to be changed to be sensible.

and I will send a directive to change it.
