Dear,

There is timer + postion micro switch provided in the breaker. Whenever there is a trip command either by manual or by instrument trip, timer starts ... & till breaker is completely trip poistion, closing command is inhibited. So, as long as fault persists, breaker shall not be switched to close.

Actually,I want to know how it sense the fault in the line without breaker closing? Because when breaker open, the ckt act as a open ckt.So in open CKT,how it is possible to check the line as fault/healthy?

dear,

1. When trip command is applied to open the breaker, timer starts, & set delay prevents reclosing command. If there is a fault persisted, TCH lamp will not glow / alarm annunciator shall guide you to clear the fault.

2. When close command is applied, micro switch for position sensing operates, & prevent further close commands if re applied in the process, i.e. only one close command is effective in closing the breaker.

You mean that when fault exist in line it will sense by antipumping relay and if fault remain the TCS will show ''unhealthy'' indication? Plz reply.

If Fault occures, it is sensed by the protection relay. This gives the trip command. at this time, timer provided in breaker also starts. Till the timer's set time period, breaker close command is inhibited. Annunciator window shall display the fault occured. Till you clear the fault and reset the annunciator, close command is inhibited.

When once close command is given, position micro switch provided near the breaker lever stops further close commands to the CB.
