1. You may actually have some bad memory in your computer.
2. Clean up the registry.
3. Examine what programs are loaded automatically when you boot. svchost.exe will often run several instances, called by various other programs, and it can be difficult to determine which instance is actually causing the problem. Note that the Windows tools for looking at start-up applications don't always report all the programs being started on boot-up- try something like ccleaner to see what is actually running on the computer. There are a number of tools out there that can help with this.
4. If all else fails, back up all your important information, wipe the hard drive and reload Windows. That always fixes problems (except hardware problems like #1 above). Or switch to Linux.
I have fought this virus (and it is a virus) whale- alotttttt. It causes window after window to open up-SO BAD YOU CANT CLOSE THE WINDOWS FAST ENOUGH- alt f4 all you want it wont help. The only thing I have found that does anything about it is a program called "combofix" risky, but it will work. I have not found a virus/malware/spyware tool that has recognised it. I have had alot of sucess with windows malicious software removal tool. Malwarebytes is also very effective. Run all three nad call me in the morning- good scans take alongggg time. Try Google ling svchost removal- (svchost is a microsoft windows prog)
This is a standard MS bit of software on XP at least, but some years ago there were viruses using the same name.......one shut the PC down before you could do anything to erase it!!! I had to re-install XP the second time in the same day....
Going online "unprotected" will give you such problems.....
If you have good antivirus software and firewalls (1 software and 1 hardware in your Model/DSL router), properly installed this should never happen nowadays....
Try a Knoppix Boot CD and boot into Linux and run the antivirus software. That may help and is not dangerous.......and relatively easy to do.....
