Best Boiler

05/27/2009 10:36 AM

What is the best Boiler for industrial application ?

I am looking for one with ~1,600Kg/h of steam = 100HP boiler ?

LPG seems to have a better combustion efficiency than Diesel.

What about electric ? Too expensive ? Low efficiency ?

What is the best boiler in the market, plz ?

Thank you for your comments and help.

Enthalpy of steam is over 2500 kJ/kg, so it's more like 1000 kW than 100 HP, and that's ignoring boiler efficiency.

No, it will all burn to 100%. Hydrocarbons do that. However, there are a number of things that can be done to improve efficiency:

  • Preheat the feedwater using blowdown and rejected condensate.
  • Maximise water treatment and the blowdown frequency drops.
  • Maximise condensate recovery and reuse, and the system efficiency goes up.

So it isn't all just about the boiler!
