Sweet! If you were a member, I'd give you a GA. This may not be what the OP had in mind, but it's elegantly simple and accurate. And the price is right!

I tend to stay away from globe valves, I normally use a stainless float transmitter (with a specific gravity less than 1) and a normally closed solenoid valve.

I would use a ball valve and a pressure transmitter at the bottom of the tank

Will you stand by the ball valve and adjust it as necessary? Why not a simple float valve, as suggested by Guest # 1?

The OP asked for a,"Level Transmitter", not pressure transmitter. Maybe he needs a level "transmitter" for process control, but, if the tank is always full why bother?

Maybe a low level switch to announce a problem.

he asked for a control valve so the controller will do that

a level transmitter is just a pressure transmitter

This is what happens when you give a question with not enough information. You get a wide selection of suggestions which you'll then have to sort out to get one that applies to your problem.

State your situation (what you want to happen) with as much details as possible.

How is the tank going to be used?
Is it just for storage?
Is it important to keep the level at a specified setpoint?
Are you just concerned about whether it's almost empty or almost full?

These are just some of the questions that need to be answered in order for us to give better suggestions.

regards,

Vulcan
