Canbon Activated Alumina Sheet

12/06/2006 11:34 PM

I am looking for carbon activated 1mm thin high purity Alumina sheet or rods of transparent type and optical grade. Any reference on such material is most welcome. I want to learn the process to produce these and can also purchase from some one manufacturing these. I will like to thank each one of you giving link to useful information. This is required for my research plans.

Shyam, my first port of call was Goodfellow, but though they stock high purity Alumina sheet and rods, I saw no mention of 'carbon activated' material. The folk at Goodfellow might be able to advise how to go about activating their stock material, of even activate it themselves? Would Chemical Vapour Deposited CVD Diamond sheet be any use as an alternative?

Nice information. I thought they were only up to high purity metals. I will get in touch with them soon. If you come across another source then please let me know. What I need is only 0.1% Carbon or even less amount in thin Alumina Sheets or rods. Actually I will cut them in small parts of about 3mm diameter x1mm or 3mmx3mmx1mm size small parts to be experimented with.
