Shuttle and ISS Visible Tonight

07/25/2009 7:07 PM

Check the NASA SkyWatch site to see when or if the fly-by occurs near you.

The International Space Station and Space Shuttle will both be visible, at the same time and in the same part of the sky, tonight.

How much more fun can you have on a Saturday night?

I am beyond annoyed that we had thunderboomers here last night. Don't know if tonight will be any better, but I'd love to look up and see this! You're not that far from my hovel; hope your weather is better.

I constantly monitor that site for fly-by notices. I've never seen the Space Shuttle unfortunately but I hope to see it on Aug 1 & 2 when the next visible fly-by occurs.

I once had the misfortune (or fortune, depending on how you look at it) of still being at the factory on a scheduled fly-by. When my alarm went off, I went outside, looked in the approach direction and waited. A couple of my mates happened by and asked what I was looking at. At that moment, the ISS started in fly-by and I explained what they were looking at. By the time I finished, there were about five people on the walk-way, all looking up at the sky.

Fun? You bet!

regards,

Vulcan
