The power needed for any fluid mover can be found by multiplying the pressure rise by the volumetric flowrate, and dividing by the efficiency.
Rules of thumb like the above can give a good first stab at it. However, it's the efficiency bit that is a problem, so reference to manufacturer's published pump performance curves is the usual way out.
