How to Convert mm H2O into Bars

08/13/2009 5:48 AM

We have positive pressure air blowers in our machine. According to manufacturer, the pressure of blower should be 300mm H2O. I want to convert that pressure into bars or mbars. Can anyone help me out?

The conversion can be carried out using the factors that are given in this link.

When you dive, water exerts one bar every 15 feet. You could use that as a rule of thumb. 300mm is about one foot. That is 1/15 of a bar or 66mb.

Sure that's not one bar increase every 33.5 feet?

That gives 300mm of water ≈ 0.03 bar (30 mbar).

That's right. Lohdi is confusing 1 ft w.g. with 1 psi.

300 mm w.g. = 30 mbar, near enough for most purposes.

I stand corrected. Yes it is 30 mbar.

Thanks Silvio Calvi.

That is incorrect. Roughly by a factor of 2.

10 m or 10,000 mm or 393.7 inches is equal to 1 bar.

300 mm = .03 bar or 30 mbar.

To be precise, its 29.42 mbar.

10 meters = 1 bar (approximately, very close)

so

300 mm = 0.03 bar (for all practical purpose)

Atmospheric pressure is approx. 10.2m of water, so you can go from there.

Dear Mr.Signode,

I bar = 1000 mbar = 0.9838 Kg/cm^2 = 10.197 Metres of Water Column = 10197 MM of Water Column

This is based on 1 atmospheric Pressure = 14.696 psi = 1.03 Kg/cm^2 = 1.0469 bar = 34 Feet of Water column. You can easily convert from one unit to other unit.
