Microsoft Ordered to Stop Selling MS Word

tip.... Toronto-based i4i, has a buy rating......soon to be absorbed by MS.

Wonder what impact this development has on efforts to improve MS Office:

The site is run by two MS employees soliciting ideas for improving all of the MS Office components.

I suppose it would be the absolute height of rudeness to submit the suggestion "Stop knowingly infringing on other companies' patents"...wouldn't it?

It's time they were ordered to pay damages to everyone who was strong-armed into buying their other virus.....Vista!

how do we relate that to this ZDNet article where apparently, Microsoft has been granted a patent for the conversion of objects into XML files?

in another article, i4i's Chairman Loudon Owen "Asked whether his company could partner with Microsoft for the right price, Mr. Owen showed a bit of humor, quipping, "Microsoft is too big for us to buy at this point... We are always ready willing and able to partner with any good partner, whoever that is."

Mr. Owen, who co-founded the Mclean Watson venture capital firm, has already brokered one major sale to Microsoft -- a 1994 purchase of 3D animation firm Softimage."

in that article, obviously, i4i wants to get paid for the use of the XML technology.

is i4i trying to catch MS's attention into buying it? it may not be about MSWord, after all.

This is a hard one and probably would set precedence. (and support their other issues and more issues they have in the UE)

I have heard some of MS bigger advancements on the internet and digging through stuff on the web, the waters did (and probably expected to) get muddy.

And like alot of things like this, it comes down to "Show me the money"
