Earthing System of DG Sets

Is it necessray to provide seperate earthing wires to the auxilary motors for pumps etc. installed on the common earthed frome of the Dg set of 4 Mw, slow speed.

If there is a risk of corrosion taking place between the metallic faces of the parts bolted together, or if there is the risk of a paint layer between them, then almost certainly. There needs to be a level of redundancy in earthing systems.

And of course,

if you want to reduce the earth fault energy at places around aux. equipments, which are fed thru a seperate breaker.

Also, max. fault level is at the alternator body earthing.
