Amazing or what? I watched an Ash furniture maker chain saw a 3 inch thick slice from a large tree which had recently been felled. I helped him lift the heavy circle across and on to a couple of saw benches for support. Rough as its surface was, he commenced to brush on his first coat of cedar oil based petri-wood, then we sat around for about fifteen minutes. He then applied his second coat and again we waited until he finally applied his third coat. During the third application, I noticed the product had started to drip through the bottom side of the wood. We then went off to have a coffee from his flask and about forty minutes later, we went back to the wood and he asked me to lift it off the saw horses by myself. I lifted the large slice without trouble and it seemed to now be a fraction of the original weight. It was explained to me that the petri-wood fluid contained a water scavenger which when applied to wood, instantly turns all inbound moisture to ethenol gas and it evaporates harmlessly. The product continues all the way through the wood leaving it not only dry, but also in its first stage of wood petrification, permanently protected against all types of rot, fungal decay, moisture, mildew, mould, attack by water and all types of wood destroying insects. He also advised me that the fluid also stops the wood from warping, cupping or splitting and that it was now saving him so much time where he had to wait for felled trees to dry and season. Now he can work with the lumber knowing it has been fully preserved even before he places a tool near it. This stuff is truly amazing and I have now obtained three 5 gallon tubs for myself, purchased on line from cedarshield.ca If you have not tried or used this stuff and you work with wood you would like to last a very long time, then go get some and see for yourself. Does anyone out there know of anything better that is also all natural and organic?
