Musings and Lamentations:

Musings and Lamentations:

Why Oh Why Does It Take So Much Prying To Extract all of the 'fine print' details of a inquirer's problem in order to provide a reasonable answer to the original problem?

See M.E.Q. " Is there a pump that can deliver low pressure and good flow rates?

This is only one case of many on these forums which appears to be the result of haste, or a lack of ability to make an explicit and complete statement of the problem.

? Why be difficult, when with just a little trying, one can be absolutely impossible?

I agree. It can get frustrating at times.

There have been instances, however, when the answers didn't have much to do or anything to do with the question. There were a lot of heated arguments in the past week and threads that evolved into completely different threads.

It can get interesting too.

ASk a dumb question, get a dumb answer.

Give them an equally stupid or incomplete answer and eventually it will be a self correcting problem.

At university (decades ago now!) we were always taught that to learn how to design something we first and foremost had to understand and communicate with others the problem that the design would solve...

It seems that a language problem isn't a barrier - Its a communication problem many posters appear to have?

John:

I agree that is at the heart of the matter.

Not to mention the replies can be just as ridiculous for not having take time to read all the posts in the thread.

Dragging in peripheral issues diverts the purpose of the thread and may push it into another channel.
