I'm too old to understand Twitter and only used Facebook because I was forced into it by younger family/friends.

But, I did the survey in the interest of giving you a broad cross section of answers and because your presentation didn't seem like the usual "do my homework for me" kind of post.

BTW, it seems surreal to me the way our habits have changed in such a short time due to the influence(not all good) of the web, and technology in general.

A year ago, I would have NEVER used BTW in a published sentence. See what I mean?

I agree. I sometimes tell the story of when I was writing tutor as an undergraduate. Students would come with papers containing abbreviations and misspellings like "thru" for "through" and "bc" for "because". Some papers even contained "lols" or "haha," which baffled me because I couldn't believe that someone would think that was appropriate for academic work.

That was three years ago, which is an eternity when thinking about social media. Many sites have come and gone during that time. Who knows what I'd see today if I was still a tutor.

Interesting survey. I'm a grumpy old man, but I would not do business with a company that used social networking as a business tool. That would put me in possible violation of a ton of confidentiality agreements, NDAs, FIRPA, HIPAA, security clearances, etc.

Ya, it is. I'll take a look around.

Sorry, I got a chance to go to Europe earlier than planned, so I left a few loose ends.

It is an elliptical glass cutter, used for stained glass. It's not quite obsolete, it still works just fine, and perfect for the home glass workshop. I have some examples at home, and will post later.

Have done the survey, but at present have no access as twitter and facebook are both blocked in China. Must say this is not a great loss to me........

Done your questionnaire, but when I tried to amend a question I thought I had incorrectly answered, by selecting undo, I found it to be erratic, it erased another question other than the one I had selected? Just thought I should bring this to your attention.

Took the survey. You might want to clarify the rating system "Please rate social media use of companies/corporations on a scale of 1-to-10, based on your opinion as a consumer ". Is 1 supposed to be good or bad, approve or disapprove?

Whoops, good point. I was thinking that 10 is the best, but I forgot that what was in my head isn't available to everyone. I will update it with a note. Thank you!

Maybe you should rephrase that one as well. I did answer with No because I have no cell phone, mobile or handy. I have no idea what a PDA is (Personal Data Accumulator?) so my answer had to be No.

Nothing will make a personal meeting obsolete if the dice are to come down and a deal is to be had. Maybe when it comes to trivial matters but not when it comes to the real thing. Personal presence will close a deal not wishful thinking and displaying unsubstantiated character and skills or expertise.

Playing a round of golf will always beat anonymous social networking hands down.
