Seeking an Aerospace Internship in Italy

11/18/2009 9:33 PM

Hello board!

I am new here and happened to stumble upon this interesting site!

Anyway I am an Aerospace Engineer that has been looking for an internship particularly in Italy for a while now with now luck :/ I was wondering if someone would have an idea as to where to look for one or even get one. It doesnt have to be in Italy, but could be in Europe as well.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard!

Does Agenzia Spaziale Italiana have a Website or other way that you have been able to try as an approach?

Good luck on getting the right gig!

GE Nuovo Pignone in Firenze is probably a good bet. It would be more compressor and gas turbine land based equipment than flying equipment, but would be possible.

Alenia Aerospace is located near beautiful Torino.

They are working on GHz communication and satellite assembly.

Look also to Finmeccanica - big company, so many sites.

Hello, and welcome Aboard!

If you do a Google search of "European Aerospace companies you'll get a long list of western Euro companies, such as:

Aeronavali, Airbus, Aerospatiale, BAE, Dassault, Lockheed Martin UK, Pilatus Aircraft, Rolls Royce, Schempp-Hirth-Flugzengban GmbH, Vulcanair, Saab, Fokker, Deutche Aerospace, and European Aerospace Co.

I didn't even include any of the Russian Design Bureaus or any of the former Warsaw Pact countries...you may want to look into those as well.

And don't forget the research labs and the automotive industries since they test their car and truck designs in wind tunnels and require aerodynamicists.

Good luck!

Mmmm I did do a search like that however the websites were not clear in the internship area they have links to like careers or contacts (mostly just to contacts). So I am confused if they actually give out internships etc.

If they do not have links etc what should I do? Perhaps email the contacts or something? I do not want to have a bad first impression :/

This is more info than my academic adviser! Thanks for all the help guys!

Do not hesitate to send your application with full detail of education and previous activities, including handwritten curriculum vitae.

Try 10 times to have success!
