I have developed a Silicone Gel ... from neutral silicone adhesive.
The problem is a chemical reaction with the copper, oxidizing it.
How can I eliminate this oxidation ?
If you're using a moisture-cure adhesive (does it smell like acetic acid?), try switching to a two-part catalyst type. There are silicones that are made to work with circuit boards, that will avoid reactions with copper. Your adhesive manufacturer can probably offer alternative formulations.

Standard RTV is not at all neutral, as the other poster notes it uses acetic acid to vulcanize the rubber. GE make a grade that uses an alcohol base. It is called RTV-162 and is considered "Electrical Grade". It is very metal friendly and I have used it extensively without any problems.

why not try RTV's with platinum cataysts....clean and smell less cures fast and does not react with materials as you have mentioned..worth a try...definetely....wacker have a great range..
