Engineers,i designed a star delta starter circuit where i used three,220VAC electromagnetic relays to function as and replace Phase failure relay expecting those relays to perform the same functions as phase failure relay. Each relay is fed with each of the 3phases respectively while each relay's Normally Open contacts are connected in Series which its final output then serves as my contorl line which fed control lines.i wired the control line correctly for Star delta starter (Automatic type) using Timer relay. At testing ,when no motor is connected to the circuit, when i intentionally simulated a single phasing fault for each phase, the circuit perfomed gracefully i.e at different time, the 220Vac relays tripped the Control circuit.
Later,i connected motor (7.5HP) to the circuit with no load on the motor,i stimulated single phase fault also but found this shocking results:
case1. when single phasing fault was stimulated, the motor continues to work as normal,i stopped it through STOP pushbutton, later tried to put it on ,not working.
case2. when i removed two phases after the whole 3phase was restored, the circuit trippe immediately through the relay ssytem i introduced
please,i want to know what else i could do to achieve my aim at from case 1 above?.i.e i want the circuit to stop working when asingle phase is outthe 3phase supply.
thanks in anticipation.
