Ask BMW since such a drawing is their property. to give you the drawing without their green light would be equivalent to give you a stolen good.

On CR4 you can find only correct persons!

Forget about the BMW crankshaft. I doubt if you will be able to come up with a drawing. Or any other engine crankshaft drawing. This information tends to be very proprietary.

Your best bet maybe to find a damaged or worn out crankshaft at some auto repair shop or wrecking yard, measure it and create your own drawing.

You won't need any fancy measuring tools for your purposes of analysis. Just a good scale, a couple pairs of simple calipers to transfer inside and outside measurements to the scale, a flat tabletop to work on and two solid blocks exactly the same height so you can suspend the crankshaft above the table surface on two main bearing journals. This will allow you to have a good reference plane from which to take measurements.

Cut some cardboard templates with accurate 90 degree edges to help you transfer distances from the crankshaft features to the flat tabletop for easy measurement.

You will be constructing much of your drawing from these offset (that's what I call them) dimensions. A carpenter's level will also be useful to establish a reference angular position for the crankshaft resting on two journals with the same centerline. Put studs in two of the flywheel mounting flange to rest the level on.

Don't complain about this being too much effort. It will be a good experience and a serious enhancement to your work especially if this is a student project.

Dear Sir,

this smacks heavily of someone trying to make forged/cloned parts, to sell cheaply only to blow up in someones engine because it is not of the strict quality control needed.........

I am sure you did not mean it so............just niaveness?

But please do not use CR4 for such requests ever again as this is proprietary information that ONLY BMW can deliver......if you are a legal recipient and am willing to pay for a license.....which I personally doubt......
