One of Our Submarines ... (Is Missing)

12/04/2009 8:49 AM

OK, so my early 80's Thomas Dolby, MTV-geek is showing:

"Overdue and Presumed Missing: The Loss of the USS Scorpion (SSN-589)"

Details:
http://sections.asme.org/hudson-mohawk/2009_Nov_Newsletter_Color_v3.pdf

Ray Misiewicz, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) Submarine Designer, honors the U.S. Navy's nautical Cold Warriors at an ASME Hudson-Mohawk sponsored dinner meeting event in New York's Capital Region.

Open to the public - both engineers and friends of engineers - there's a charge only if dinner is requested.

Please RSVP by Tuesday of next week if interested in attending. Hope to see you there!

OK, and for the Thomas Dolby fans, click here for the YouTube video. :)

Hi Garthh - Sorry for the late reply. Many thanks for the shout-out video from Falco! One of my favorite 80's rappers, and we both shared a liking for Kathleen Turner. :) I loved how he mashed-up English and low-brow, Austrian-dialect-German in his lyrics. His sense of humor and social commentary was amazing. Wish I had seen him in concert while I was in Vienna in '86. Cheers, - Larry
