Jet Pump Problems

after filled w/h2o &pump started,press. builds to aprox 30 psi & then dumps press. may build press.a couple more times but doesn!t continue to supply water. do i have a leak or could it be something else?

Yes, it could be a leak in your bladder on the pressure thank, or your tank is just water logged, look for a air nozzle on your tank (similar to the nozzle on a car tire) and fill it (prime it) with air.

It is also possible to have leakage of air into the suction line to the pump. Inside the pump, the heavier water moves to the outside of the rotating impeller, while the air collects at the center or eye. When the eye of the impeller becomes full of air, no further water enters the pump; the pumping action stalls. This is one form (among several) of cavitation.
