See the same article nearly discussed by CR4 Thread under title How to Build a Pipe Bending Machine.

219.3mm (8.6") o.d. pipe is much to large to try to bend with a "personal use" home built pipe bending machine. Unless of course you live in a steel fabrication shop!

Look into cutting out a section of a pre-made fitting such as 22-1/2deg, 30deg, 45deg, 60deg or 90deg elbow (what ever is most appropriate for the angle you want) and welding, soldering, or brazing it onto the straight sections of pipe. This is a much cheaper way to get the bend in the pipe, especially if it is a run of less than a thousand units.

Anything that is beefy enough to bend 8" pipe is going to be big, need much power to operate and would melt the "plastic" of most people who would be looking at this site.

This Diameter is only for a plant produced mashine - previously bending by the HC electricity.

Do you really mean 219.3 mm od round pipe? That's no personal project! you're going to require major machinery!!! Most street lamp posts are smaller than that at the bend.

If you mean bending small pipe into a curve having an OD of 219.3 mm, then that could be a personal project, and AHG's link is appropriate.

In any case, you really need to specify pipe OD, wall thickness, radius (or diameter) of bend, and maximum angle of bend to get a truly appropriate answer.

You need section rolling capability for that size of pipe rather than a machine that applies a single force against a partially located pipe. The amount of power required would be significant and way beyond personal use.

Find a good stout tree with an appropriate diameter for the bend, then hire a couple of good-sized crawler dozers to push on each end of the pipe and bend it around the tree to your desired degree of bend.

This method will be far less expensive than the building and powering of a machine to make the bend.

depending on where you are you may be able to rent one. they use portable benders for oilfield pipelines. they are typically trailer units 2000 to 3000 lbs and have there own engines for power when you rent you need to spec. dye size. some don't use dyes but use bars instead and tend to kink the pipe the dye type are more common and usually more capable
