I am using PVC for testing a concept, only because it is cheap, and was wondering if someone knows for certain what maximun temperature(continuous) that this .250" thick-walled PVC pipe can withstand? Thank you for your answers.
Operating temperature for most PVC pipe is 32° to 140° F.
Max temperature for PVC is 200° F. For pipe that temperature will very depending on pressure. The listing I got for max temperature was 100° to 200° F.
CPVC has a little higher operating temperature to 200° F.

There is the temperature of the stuff that flows inside the pipe and the pressure. Then there is the atmospheric temperature and pressure outside the pipe. All of this is closely linked.
A reliable PVC pipe manufacturer will normally have all the relevant parameters to use the pipes safely.

It varies with size and pressure, and can be found in the manufacturer's literature.
