College Students Seek Information on Brownfields Development

01/26/2010 5:18 PM

My group and I are currently trying to develop a mock business plan for a fictional company. This is our senior project, our topic is Brownfield development and construction. Our objective for the semester is to state why Brownfield development would be a good market niche to enter into.

Any and all information, links and post would be much appreciated.

Google and Wikipedia are great places to start and will give you an enormous amount of general and specific information.

My own business plan failed because I didn't capture how stupid most successful business plans are.

Therefore I suggest you write a business plan that is extremely weighted towards the bios of your executives, making all of you out to be the most attractive and smartest people ever born.

Emphasis over and over how wonderful, and lovable you and your associates are.

Say over and over how much money others who are just like you have succeeded simply because they were just fabulous people.

You may briefly mention some product, or service, that the company may briefly offer, before it is sold to fabulous personalities, such as yourselves.

But don't dwell on that. That's boring.

I have some mock links to go with your mock business plan.

Good luck. Write when you get work!

Gottah say I am irked to have received an offtopic rating for my post.

I have studied Business Plans, and have discovered that many that are successful, are heavily weighted toward the personalities attached.

This is not entirely nonsensical for while you and your associates may well have the greatest idea since sliced bread, investors will base much of their support on whether or not they believe the people to whom they are asked to provide the means, will follow through.

While you may not have liked the tone I chose to make that point, in this case, I do not feel I was off topic.

Further, this is the only time in three years I have ever objected to an off topic rating of a post of mine.

Take a look at what they did with Brownfield development at the abandoned Bethlehem Steel Works in Bethlemhem, PA. Outstanding!

May you have a great sunny day.....it's snowing here as the Solar PV system Contractor is playing around on my roof this AM doing his gig!!!!!
