CR4 attachments?

01/28/2010 2:21 AM

Can I make attachments instead of writing brief questions as I need to include pictures, drawings etc?

Use the green camera icon - displayed on the tool bar in CR4's Editor box where you submit a post. It accepts various formats (.bmp/.jpg etc) and can be resized by 'dragging' the corners. Alternatively, upload pictures to a hosting site (eg Flickr) and provide a link to your (Flickr or whatever) site.

I hope you mean pictures as well as writing, not instead of writing - it probably won't make much sense otherwise.

It looks the same form here !?!

Maybe it is a browser issue ? - CR4 doesn't like all types.

I used my mouse to right-click/copy/paste Dels arrigator picture below;

You could upload your pictures to one of the free hosting sites and do similar maybe ? (Not shoot arrigators - do the 'cut and paste' type thing )

What I was planning to attach (kindly note the word ATTACH) was a word document containing pictures, darwinsgs, sketches etc etc in addition to comemnts, text etc, not a simple jpj or picture file etc. I get an error message saying the server did not accept word document. I am keen to initiate a interesting discussions by attaching this word document.

This is still not acceptted.

I noticed that if I use Internet explorer to open CR4, the green camera icon is there on teh tool bar and not if I use mozilla Explorer !!!

There's no way I know of to attach a word document. The only work arouind I can think of is to take a series of screen capture images, then submit as any other pictures. You could summarize, and invite anybody interested to contact you via PM to exchange e-mail adresses for more detail. Might be frowned on by Admin (as this is primarily a forum for public discussion) - I don't know.

I have to go in via Firefox to do such things. Can't do it via Safari. Don't get the tool bar via Sarfari, but do via Firefox.

I'm using a MAC, OSX hardware software combination. Really don't think that affects the toolbar availability issue.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks a lot to everyone. I have succeeded in attaching figures. Let me alos tell you how I did it.

I have been making drawings in word document using- insert- object - microsoft windows picture. Whenever I copied such a document to this message section, those objects used to be blank. Finally I started copying those drawings to irfan file. Bring the text from word document and paste pictures, drawings from irfan .jpg file.

Thanks a lot to everyone who shared ideas.
