Dear Guys,

pls ,any body clarify my query , what is applicationon of LTCS(LOW TEMP CARBON STEEL)material.is it A 333 ,Gr.6 ?

Yes, A333 grade 6 is suitable to low temp applications. It is indeed a really good one, usually used on seamless pipes, good strengh, good toughness. What is its application? Your imagination - and the standards you are subject to - are the limit. Please, formulate better your question to get further help.

A333Gr6, also called "Yoloy" from Youngstown Steel Co., is basically a nickel-enriched carbon steel, giving it high notch toughness (Charpy test values). This suits it to low temperature applications (refrigeration, Arctic/Antarctic installations) where brittleness might be an issue. A285GrC is relatively good at low temperatures, but not as low as with A333Gr6.

Welding electrodes and procedures may differ from the more usual carbon steels.
