My son observed this very event at his school. Another pupil, in a line of desks all with computers on, turned round to the line behind. He started messing with the back of the computer behind him. He was fascinated with the small red switch labelled "110/220V". He flicked the switch from 220 to 110, and the machine then leaked all it's magic smoke out and died. His family were not pleased to get a bill for a new computer. The moral of the story is don't mix supplies, they bite.
