Gremlins got in there and bent it into the wrong shape? Truck driver ran into a brick wall, and the sudden stop crunched the boiler? I'm an inept psychic, so I'm having trouble figuring this one out.

Then why even post????? Are you simply trying to increase your number? If you're clue-less, don't waste the bandwidth.

I think the Tornado is just hinting that a little more information would go a long way to help avoid wild guesses and provide useful analysis.

We could start with boiler type and operating parameters. It should also be kept in mind that this is an international forum and the units we use may be different. We can cope with that and do the conversions but abbreviations are not universal and can lead to misinterpretation.

Okay, smartass, you didn't answer the question either, nor did you hint at the question's vagueness, nor did you say anything even remotely witty. No wonder you remained anonymous. Coward.

Hi It appears that there is a localised combustion of fine coal particles which has not been sensed by the thermocouple. The temperature might have gone beyond 950deg C. Since the thermocouple has not sensed, there is local combustion in the cyclone vortex that has probablely distorted the vortex mouth.
