Steel. With a little rubber, and steel.

No problem.

Construction machinery I've designed uses a mixture of mild steel, HSLA (like COR-10) and high strength (like T-1) for the frame, boom, bucket, etc. Tool steel or other wear-resistant material is used for the teeth.

Basically, design it, do a stress analysis, then either use a stronger steel or more of it if you need to. Remember, stronger steel does not change deflection.

Material brands such as Hardox or Abro are used in components such as the liners for the buckets. The properties of this material is high wear resistance they are however inherentley difficult to machine.

the guy that loads our backhoe looks fairly soft. I think he has been a truck driver way too long.

On a school project, you really should learn to specify materials yourself. Then maybe bring it here for discussion.

I concur, the purpose of a project is for you to think of the strength of the materials you need and select them based on your or redesign to suit available materials.

Having the materials handed to you on a plate defeats the purpose of the exercise and won't help you in the long run.

Thank you very much for all your comments,Really I appreciate them. I found this material ( HARDOX 400), but there is difficulty to get similar in the Solidworks material library http://www.jlsteel.co.uk/pdf/hardox/datasheet/hardox_400_datasheet.pdf So I will try to find similar material Thanks again
