Hello,
please show me a way of research, my problem is as follows:
I have to size a tank buried double Jacket Horizontal, I want to Inquiries on the external pressure exerted by the soil on the tank and all loads.
Consider the weight of the sand/soil above the vessel ,
The area must be equal to the rectangle having width(B) equal to the diameter of the vessel and length equal the the total length of the the vessel.(L)
The depth of the soil shall be taken from the centerline of the vessel to the top of the surface.(H)
Now you have the volume of the soil above your tank as = L*B*H
The weight shall be equal to = L*B*H*density of the soil
External pressure = weight /rectangular area (kg/cm²)
