Do you have the software for programming the PanelView? I'm pretty sure you're going to need it to diagnose the problem.

there might be something wrong with the wiring... trying to boot the resident program and also upload the program from pc. check your wiring. diagrams should have been provided in your manuals.

On "newer" PanelView Pluses there is a little white square, I forget exactly where on the screen, that pops up during the boot process. Pushing this square will take you to the menu and not try to run any programs. Earlier units did not have this which could cause problems if the designer neglected to put a "Shutdown" button somewhere in the program. If yours does not have this feature there is a utility that can be loaded onto a flash card that should do the same thing. The Rockwell Automation Website should have some information. Both of these suggestion will only be helpful if the program has become corrupt and that is what's causing your issue. If it's hardware related I'm not sure there's much you can do.

The problem I believe is, that you have more than one program on the panel-view internal memory that was downloaded with run when download complete, box checked.

Simply remove the old programs that are no longer used and leave the program that should be running. You can transfer these old files to a flash memory card for archiving if you so choose.

The next time the panel-view boots it will only have the one, (the correct program) and will most likely boot up properly.

If you put Shawn and Elroy's answers together you have a good solution.

The Panelview is working properly untill the application opens, so you must use the over-ride button to get into the Panelview's configuration menu in order to keep the application from running automatically.

Do this by:

  1. Disconnect then reconnect power to the Panelview and watch the screen as it reboots.
  2. After a few seconds a little white square will appear in the lower left-hand corner of the touchscreen.
  3. Tap this square a few times and the Panelview will startup in the Config Screen.
  4. Find and select the menu called "File Management."
  5. If more than one application is saved on the Panelview then delete all of the applications except the one that you need.
  6. Press "Exit" or "Go Back" untill you reach the Panelview's top level menu which has the buttons, "Load Application," "Run Application," "Reset Terminal," etc.
  7. Select "Load Application," pick the correct application, press the enter key, then click "Run Application."
  8. The Panelview should then startup normally.
