Supplier Search: 5-Gallon Metal Buckets for Roofing Tar / Paint

only one responder could find a supplier, at $22 each, extra for lids. I know 5 gallon driveway sealer type metal buckets can be found cheaper, as a metal bucket full of product can be found cheaper. So where do they come from, i may need a thousand or 2.

Maybe this? Find the type and size of bucket you need. Whatever it contains (paint, oil, sand, etc.), call up the manufacturer and ask where they get their buckets, or if they can sell you empties. Recycling centers might also have some.
