Carbon monoxide is readily absorbed by a solution of cuprous chloride in hydrochloric acid, a compound being formed which can be obtained as white crystals , CuCl,CO,2H2O.
It is also absorbed by a solution of cuprous chloride in ammonia.
You will find, if you look, that there are commercial systems for carbon monoxide scubbing that use cuprous chloride as their basis, with aluminium chloride instead of HCl. See COPure for example.
