Hello Everyone,
I am searching for any websites that would have plans for fabricating and building a small DIY excavator or dump bucket that I could mount onto an old lawn tractor that my aging mother wants to get rid of (a 10 year old MTD w/ hydraulic drive and barely used).
I want to keep it as KISS as possible since I know next to nothing about pneumatic/hydraulic machine design. I am willing to learn the engineering part of it, but I need a good starting point.
I'm looking to obtain pneumatic components such as drives, hoses, fittings, and cylinders right off the shelf at local stores (Lowe's, Farm & Tractor, etc.), or online if need be. If all at possible I would like to run the pneumatic system somehow off the power take-off drive that is used for driving the mower deck (belt driven).
The fabrication of steel components is no big deal here as I have a well equipped mechanics' garage....
I have seen some blogs in CR4 where someone had built a pneumatically-powered log-splitter........so even obtaining those plans would be a good start for me!
If anyone can steer me into the right direction I would greatly appreciate it....and many thanks in advance!
Have a great Mother's Day!
