Dear Sir,

In the fan the Strating and running windings are in parallel with the

capaciror connected in series to the starting winding to give the required

phase shift to provide the starting torque. The two ends are connected to

the Phase and neutral of the single phase supply ie two ends of the parallel

connection form the Phase and the Neutral.
