That ranks right up with the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse for opportune video capture. I hope the pilot escaped (largely) unscathed.

Great photo. Looks like he was carrying a full load of weapons. Can only imagine the pics of that stuff going off. Probably not much plane left after those things detonated. Never was too crazy about that plane idea, just too complicated.

Same for the Marine's tilt rotor job. Just have a few planes that work good, and use them. Save a lot of money in the long run.

These illustrations should be shown to grades 1-12 before the 4th of July; note some lillttle darlin's may become distressed by the graphic nature of the illustration's, we call this effective communication.
