With out the drawing or a sketch it is hard to offer any specific recomendation.

Years back I remember solution treat cast aluminum alloy casting BS L53 at 510 deg C and oil quench. We used simple air circulating furnace and casting hoisted and quenched in oil with minimum transfer time loss. The castings were not more than 50 kilos. But your are talking of 1500 kilo cast! Soaking time of course depends on the maximum cross sectional area of the piece. If oil quenching is needed extreme care need to be taken to prevent quenchant oil reaching flash point. Best is use UCON Quenchant a nonflammable, aqueous solutions containing special polymers and corrosion inhibitors for quenching ferrous and nonferrous metals.http://www.dow.com/ucon/formulated/fluids/quench.htm refers. This inverse soluble media offers best guard against uncontrolled warp-age due to rapid cooling during quenching.

Sir,

You have given only the total requirement.

If there are many pieces to be done in shift. Just in time I R Furnace is possible. This gives huge saving in energy .

You may visit www.litelir.com and write your enquiry in detail to get more information.

This gives better results too.
