Re: T R for transformer?

Hi guest!!

as far as I know from my work, there're many tests need to be made from time to time on power transformers such as *Measurement of winding resistance using (Migger).*Measurement of voltage ratio and check of phase displacement.* measurement of short-circuit impedance which is determined by measuring the primary voltage necessary to full-load current with the secondary terminals are shorted together.* measurement of no-load loss and magnetizing current at rated voltage & frequency. Keep in mind this test is measured on one set of windings, but the other windings open-circuited.* also there is particular tests like the applied voltage test which verifies the health of the winding insulation to earth and between the windings, also there's the induced voltage test that makes sure of the insulation between turns & between wendings.

I hope this helps.

Depending on whether this is a new transformer being commissioned for the first time or an in-service transformer being maintained & tested, get the ANSI / InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) Acceptance Testing Specification 2009 or the Maintenance Testing Specification 2007. Go to link:

http://www.netaworld.org/

These specs give the recommended and optional tests for electrical apparatus including power transformers.

Those that are stated on the original equipment manufacturer's instructions.
