How about a weigh belt conveyor system? Program it to take the appropriate action when not enough weight is sensed as the boxes move down the line.

An old Japanese story goes this way:

The industrial engineering department came up with the proposal of a low-energy X-ray system to do this job. Cost - $25000.

A worker on the shopfloor had a better idea, he repositioned a large pedestal fan to blow over the conveyor...empty boxes got blown off..

Don't know if it works for you

There is pouch in box. Pouch film is laminated or metalised (alumiium) bi axialy oriented polypropelen.

Thank you,

Good suggestions.

Hi sandeep,

  • Is there a pouch in EVERY box, even the empty ones?
  • Do the pouches contain something?
  • Assuming they do, are the pouches always filled to the same level, having the same amount of material in them?
  • Are you trying to find a way of making sure that your product containers have the required amount of material before going out the door?

As usual, you are not giving enough information. It takes DETAILS for "thoughts to become things".

1) YES we want pouches in every box, which doesnt have pouch suppose to get rejected.

2) pouches contains spices powder.

3) Having same amount of material

4) Yes we want to make sure product containers have the required amount of material

Hi Sandeep,

How many pouches are supposed to be in each box?

Do you have variability of getting the right amount of spice each the pouch or getting the right number of pouches in each box?

I'm just trying to get a handle on exactly what you are having problems with.

Mike

Yes. X-rays, ultrasound, weighing machines, metal detectors etc. It all depends on what's supposed to be in the boxes.

It seems we usually use scales for such determinations. It is amazing how fast a scale sensor can respond. I can't remember how fast a Franklin Bread Bagger runs, but you have be quick if your going to stick your hand in it. Of course, no operator would ever do that, unless a bag was hung up on the scoops and the local OSHA rep' was doing paper work!

Try using a capacitance method using the cartons as the electrolyte empty cartons will have a different capacitance than a full carton.

Cheap and easy to set up.

In 1970 I toured the RJ Reynolds factory in/near High Point, NC, USA. They had three weighing steps: correct number of cigarettes per pack, packs per carton, and cartons per box. (And maybe more: I don't know about boxes per pallet or pallets per truckload....)
