Hi, i am an electrical engineer so i should not be really answering this, but what the heck, i use Loctite for screw sealing. Quite often manually, but here is an image of an automatic line that i worked on in Germany (not Loctite, simple paint to seal the screw in the adjusted position)

The dosing of Loctite can be done in many ways automatically, here is a YouTube video.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jamvgas9ox4

Rectorseal is a company that makes sealants that apply to most applications if loctite is not the option you are looking for

When you say sealing a screw thread did you mean to stop it from vibrating loose in service. Or was it meant to mean that you have a pipe line that is full of fluid or gas that you want to seal.

if it is for a piped system then you can use PTFE tape or a paste such as Boss white or silicon that has an anti mould agent in it.

Without knowing the full application details it is hard to be more help-full to you.
