The soft starter that I need is for a motor. I have enough information about it but what I don't have is a schematic circuit.

On Internet I've found information from the fabricants, but they just show how to use a soft starter, I need to know how to do it by myself.

For example, I would like to know what device works better and thigs like that.

This is just for academic porpouse, not comercial.

I would really estimate if you could help me with that.

Is this a single or three phase motor? From your question I can deduce that you are not highly skilled in the matter, so I would suggest an electromechanical system, this is for three phase motor. for single phase, you will need an extra winding on the motor, or a arrangement for reduced voltage starting. For low power single phase manual soft starting you can use a light dimmer, Your question is unclear and not well thought off, If you want intelligent answers, you need to ask intelligent questions.

Allen Bradley of Rockwell Automation, www.ab.com, has info on their soft starts. I've used their SMC-Plus. ABB has soft starts as well. Models PSS and PSR are a couple. ABB can be contacted www.abb.us. Installation Manuals are available that contain schematic drawings. If you can't find what you need, let me know and I can provide a typical schematic for you.

Agreed. AB soft-starts are also a "fit-and-forget" device (not that it helps with a schematic).

Is your requirement for a schematic due to the addition of any bypass contactors, seperate overload relays, multiple motors, etc?

Those additions cause need of a specific schematic. If you have a local Allen-Bradley distributor in your area who deals in motor control centers for water/wastewater, they have access to a Rockwell Automation database of schematics and may be able to help you out.

Try www.ab.com and click on the "locate us" link on the left to find your local distributor.

Other manufacturers, Square D, Cutler-Hammer, etc, would also have access to their company's schematic databases.

Go to www.eatonelectrical.com/crp

Select the Table of Contents for the Consutling Application Guide

go to section 31 They have schematics for all the normal motor starters.

"This is just for academic porpouse, not comercial."

...yeah, sure. Please send me the code for Microsoft Windows too. It's not for comercial pourposes either, just academic. Heck, I might as well ask for some plans for a nuke reactor too. Again, just academic.

My sarcasm stems from the fact that you are asking someone to provide you with information that they have paid a lot of money for the development of, yet they are to trust that you are not a potential competitor just because you said so in an anonymous forum? You are very naive, or at least you think a lot of other people are. At the very best, if we take you at your word and you are a student, then you are asking us to do your shcool work for you. Equally dishonest if you ask me.
