What Laws and Regulations Govern CR4?

Marketing at Globalspec has instituted and maintains through moderators control of the content of participant contributions to the CR4 forum.

What laws of the US, or international laws most influence what is allowed, or not allowed on CR4?

Should members of CR4 just help anyone do anything? Should CR4 editors and moderators be also attorneys?

SCOTUS keeps scuttling US laws regulating the internet, but there is a sort of general set of standards about what is prohibited:

  • threats to national security
  • illegal targeting of minors
  • fraud, instructions on pirating credit cards, scams of all sorts
  • hacking
  • libel and slander
  • copyright violations
  • any praise of the RedWings

I would have thought on this site it was the Law of Averages.

Occasionally its the Law of the Jungle.

Then there is Murphy's Law.

Followed by the Inverse Proportion Law.

Of course as we all know, there are those who are, Laws unto Themselves.

I suspect that should cover it..

I don't understand to point of the questions.

The legal point of view is not something to ask on an engineers forum for sure.

I am not exactly sure what you mean? Just about anything is allowed by law under certain circumstances (site and location dependent), most of the restrictions and rules governing specific content on this site are based on ethical and context rules (which are fairly clear to most people and are additionally included on CR4's FAQ).

Can you site some examples for clarity please.
