Pressure Sensor Technologies

07/27/2010 3:16 AM

Dear All,

Kindly let me know the main pressure sensor technologies for the pulp and paper industry. We have to order pressure transmitters for the chemical and steam & condensate areas. In chemical area we are using OBA,Polymer,Filler Talc. Kindly tell me the pressure sensors best suited for these applications

A few pressure transducer manufacturers are Ametek, Bourns, Data Instruments, Foxboro, and Rosemount. These and others make transducers/transmitters in various materials suited to the corrosion conditions. For starters, I would search out a few Web sites like these. (These are just samples; no endorsements or personal connections apply.)

In addition to the above, talk to Endress + Hauser, and Vega (usual disclaimers).

You can also find a very broad selection of pressure sensors at Siemens USA.

or

I have found they have very quick delivery and quite good after sales service. The best part is the warrantee is tied to the sensor's internal clock, so the warrantee is only used up when the unit is powered up..

Hello AA,

Also Dwyer and Druck (disclaimer).

OBAs, Polymer, and Filler Talc aren't corrosive, so finding something should be quite easy. NOTE: I know that aqueous NaOH in up to 50% concentrations is also used in paper processing. If the sensor is going to be in contact with this, let the vendor know.
