Now that I thought about it some more, there is no reason why, or why not, that any CR4 member could not register as a completely different identity, complete with their own sign-up log, history, avatar, and perhaps more importantly, a totally different persona reflecting their knowledge (or lack thereof), viewpoints, sense of humour (or lack thereof), member groups, location, etc., in order to double their participation in this forum.
Heck, why only have two? - the sky's the limit - why not not have 5 or 15 separate ID's on site? The only possible limiting factor would be the email registration.
And I would expect that CR4 Administration to be on top of this type of misuse.
I have pondered the possibilities of some "Guests" posing as such, from time to time, posing "really weird" comments or postings.
Such nefarious possibilities are not in my realm of thought of myself doing business & continuing to participate in this wonderful website chat room.
However, the aforementioned variants could be plausible if applied by wrong-doers.
Also, I believe that JohnDG is not jdg, and is just a mistaken assumption on someone's part.
You're right about the possibility of multiple personas (personae?) - it is theoretically not impossible.
"Also, I believe that JohnDG is not jdg, and is just a mistaken assumption on someone's part." - AFAIK, no-one has yet make that mistake - I just wanted to jump in quick to preempt such an event.

I wouldn't think you had anything to worry about! Anyone that's been here for even a short time knows you by your no-nonsense answers and, of course, your cool animated GIF avatar. jdg doesn't even have an avatar!

Please note that someone has changed the title of this thread from the original, thereby rendering it incomprehensible in its original context.
This is the text of a message I have sent to CR4 Administration:
------------------
Please would someone change the thread title back to what I originally posted, viz:
"Statement of Dissociation - JohnDG is not jdg"
I am certain that I posted it thus, and have no idea how it could have changed. replies #1 to #8 in the thread show that I posted it as above. Please change it back, or give me a damn' good reason why not. As it stands, it makes a mockery of the thread.
------------------
Yours Fumingly,
JohnDG.

Thanks to Admin for changing the thread title - still not quite right, tho', as the log-in name of the other party (member #40000) is "jdg" not "JDG"; also, my original title used "not", not "Not".
Can anyone suggest why it was changed in the first place?

Alien Tinker Monkeys have escaped from KrisDelTM's secret lab and they did it.
Actually, the thread title of my bad industrial design thread got changed, from the witty original.
I don't mind Admin changing titles from morons, like 'Question'
'Or Plz gv me cct dia for BWFT help'
But I consider my worms carefully before putting paw to jeyboard and would rather they weren't changed.
It's probably just a Brit thing (being able to write proper innit?)

It appeared that the first change came from none other than Loupy. Anyone can change the the title when they reply. See, I have changed it back to your original.
I really don't know why that is allowed here by anyone other than a moderator.

So something isn't right with the world and all is not what it seems?
So which pill will it be - the red one or the blue one?

I took the blue one last time, and found it to make me dizzy from having an erection for more than 4 hours, so I called my doctor, (as is recommended in the ads). He said "Good Luck, I'm happy for you, keep it up".
My girlfriend is happy, too, - now she takes out the garbage, cooks up filet minion on a regular basis, cuts and rakes the yard, washes the truck, weeds the garden, she put a new roof on our house, buys me beer, and invites me to meet all her female friends to meet for impromptu skinney dipping pool parties.
I'm just trying to keep livin' the dream...finally, after 56 years on this rock. - Me just hopes the dream keeps on goin', and never stops. - Loupy -
However - My doctor's office called me this morning and she, (the receptionist, that is - meaning the person who does all of the heavy slogging in the office), want's me to schedule a near future appt. regarding a recent test result. . I told her to hang tight for a while, while I can have time to properly put my affairs into order, (nothing really bad, I hope, but one never really knows for sure, do they?)
P.S. I haven't taken any sort of what's concidered as any form of what is commonly known as a "vacation", for at least the last 25 or years, as far as I can remember.
I'm way overdue for a vacation, believe me - it just took me this long to finally realize the fact!
So maybe, being laid off after 19 years of service, (from the last place), together with a half-decent severance package is EXACTLY what's required. (Never mind working full-time from starting off as a greener than green apprentice electrician in a steel mill in Hamilton, from 1972 until now)
I'm now presently on semi-permanent laid-off /forced early retirement/vacation notice (until the money starts to run down.)
I once went to my GP for an opinion re. chest pains. He checked me out, listened to my cough and prescribed a visit to the X-ray dept. ("You may have a touch of pneumonia").
Went for the X-ray. A week or so later, got a call from the surgery - "Doctor wants to see you urgently - no, I can't tell you any more - just come and see him".
Went to see him at the appointed time, suffering (by now) from high blood pressure, acute anxiety, palpitations - you name it, I had it.
"Come in, Mr. G... , take a seat. To cut a long story short, your chest is perfectly clear, but you have a broken rib"
Seems that when Small jumped on me one morning (she was about 2 then), the "OOOF!" she squeezed from me covered the sound of cracking bones.
Sure you'll be fine - keep in touch.
John
(PS I got a coupla years on you (b. 1952) - I'm still dreaming too).

The Red Pill is the one you take where Morpheus shows you how deep the rabbit hole goes. The Blue Pill is the one where you wake up and believe whatever you want to believe. Mash them together and it's the Purple Pill, the one you take to nix the effects of your gf's cooking.
Yes, this post is about four years late, but I wanted to give you time to make your decision.
