Diaphragh Pressure Switch

Sir, I have a well calirated Diaphragh Pressure Switch (RANGE 1.6-16 KG) in which setpoint is 12 kg. In addition Diaphragh Pressure Switch for high pressure tripping there is a bursting disc which is designed to burst at 17 kg. The problem is that before the pressure switch give the tripping cammand the bursting disc burst. what could be the reason behind it? and how to reduce the response time and increase the sensivity of Diaphragh Pressure Switch?

Pressure has units of force per unit area.

What is the switch connected to?

Do you have any means of knowing whether the pressure switch ever tripped, or whether it tripped later than the rupture disk? Something like a manual reset latching relay that indicates whether the pressure switch tripped?

Is the location of the pressure switch at some distance from the rupture disc? Are these devices along piping or in a tank?

Is the nature of the increase in pressure more of a short duration pressure spike or a relatively slow build-up over time?

Perhaps the pressure switch sees a delayed pressure build-up due to "damping" so that the rupture disc sees the full pressure before the pressure switch does. Is the pressure switch mounted on a length of capillary, tubing or piping, or on a diaphragm seal that would dampen the pressure seen by the switch?

Do you know what the highest amount of pressure (kg?) was? And, was it a sharp sudden increase or a slow ramping of pressure? Also, what is this pressure switch supposed to do when it "trips"?

Do the discs exist in various "values"? If true, was the wrong disk in?

Has anyone actually checked that the pressure is operating correctly?, maybe it is set too high.....
