Try going to a store that sells magazines. Look for anything related to open wheel racing,and F1 in particular. Buy subscriptions to ALL related magazines. A$25 dollar subscription will educate you to start, and lead to other learning sorces listed in the magazines. Good luck,and enjoy.

If you want something better than Wikipedia, get the bible... titled "The Science of Formula 1 Design" by David Tremayne. The topics range from history, aerodynamics, suspension to tires and going fast. What really impresses someone when they open the book is the quality illustrations throughout the text. There's also considerable insight into the history of ideas and technologies in the sport and it opens doors into a world of F1 you never see on TV or read about in magazines.
