Nothing much as far as I can see. By the usual definition, 1 therm = 105 BTU.

Codey, 1 therm = 1000000 Btu . Otherwise, he will not understand.

You have one too many zeros! 1 therm = 100000 btu

Perhaps the OP is asking the meaning of BTU in terms of thermal power, the amount of heat required to heat 1 pound of water by 1 degree F. The equivalance to metric calories can be found in any Imperial to metric conversion table.
