Conspiracy Theory

08/29/2010 8:10 AM

Hi to all. I got a interesting theory. I bought a copy of Windows 7, and for some reson Microsoft did not recognised as genuine, but it is. The product key didn't work until after many tries and my hard drive was broken and i did had to install the same OS up to 6-7 times. So the microsoft did mark it as fake not genuine. Ok i got it to work and it did work fore some time and it did work for a month or so, then i notice the marking in right left corner ,,this is not geniuine windows products,, And my theory is this, microsoft can send some programs in to your computer to make it crass. cos my PC did crass and i did need to install it all again. It is not paranoia and i am not asking you to fix my pc i am only asking, can microsoft send a terorist program in to your pc to crass it down, if it is not legal OS.

Sounds similar to what a friend experienced recently. The driver for the cooling fan was missing. This caused the system to overheat and report as "overclocking".

MS is notorious for selling overstated and unfinished product. As for disabling your system, sure they certainly could do that too.

One thing about installing Vista or Seven to watch, is SMART related or the hard drive failure record buried in the hardrive's inner flash, too old a drive or flaky a drive and the newer MS OSes will not install, but they do not give the reason why, just fail to install.

This is using OEM install disk btw, MS has preparation software for OEM dealers to use to wipe and prepare a harddrive prior to installing Vista or Seven.

I got caught out trying to install a legal OEM Vista on a homebuilt (from parts) PC, spent many hours fussing until finally found out the real reason the install would freeze or fail half way through.

Its annoying how software guys do checks for X and diagnose a problem, but fail to tell the user properly why a process has failed, real english/other error reports and dialogue boxes would help greatly.

So guds777 is using an OEM version of 7... On a system built by themselves' and... Using a program to bypass the license keys... And then they're asking: "can microsoft send a terorist program in to your pc to crass it down, if it is not legal OS."

Nice... Real Nice!

As for 'their' question I would say.. Hmm... guds777 breaking the law on soo many levels... But if they did send you a 'terrorist program' they (MS) would possibly be breaking the law... Although I don't know the EULA for MS, it could be that they're well within their rights to do so since they found out that YOU DO NOT have a "LEGAL COPY." Maybe when you or your PC went to get some updates... Maybe it's stipulated there that they can disable your ILLEGAL COPY of 7... Don't know.

Well, the first question is: "Where did you get your copy of Windows 7?"

I have Win 7 and it is the best OS I have ever had. I don't see any reason for Microsoft to benefit by deliberately making your system crash.

I did have a few wierd problems with XP after the updates (which were a real freaking pain in the a$$).

I'd say that you didn't get a genuine copy of Win 7 to begin with - the only conspiracy here is that someone is selling bootleg copies of Windows 7.

Three thoughts. First is there a hologram on the oem dvd? If not it could be pirated. Second, try installing on a fresh new hdd, like an oem would.

Too many bad sectors could be messing you up. I doubt this malfeasance in MS's part.

This version of 7 is liget, it was bought with a computer, but there was some hardware problem, i was using an old hard drive, so i did need to install the OS upp to 7 times. And i did activate it as many times, so i think microsoft has mark it as copied. I was going thru the same problem with the vista. i did bought computer with OEM version of vista, and when my pc did crash down then, then i did need to install the same vista up to 6-7 times as i has with 7. And same as with the vista my pc did not update it self and after wile the pc did crass. I am not a thief, but i did pay a friggin lott of monny for a crappy os, if i had more monny then i woold by Mac. The microsoft is the problem. i need it to work, and if i need to use Loder program for it to work then i do.

If the problem is that "activation" has been attempted too many times, then you can call the "activation hotline" that Microsoft provides during the activation phase of the installation. I haven't installed Win7, but with older OS's, if you didn't have a connection to the internet, it would prompt you to call a certain phone number to complete the validation. So, unplug the network, install, and wait for the phone number..........

Hope that helps,

Tom D.

Well, there's too many inconsistancies with your 'story.' I bought 7, then installed on a home built, then bought with a PC (I mean who puts a used harddrive on a 'new' PC as the primary?!?!), etc...

I just got home and my wife had a similar problem sometime ago with 95 lol She had to call MS to get it straightened out. As for OEM disks... There's different 'types' of OEM disks, such as DELL, HP, etc and then there's the "OEM" type lol Some OEM disks look for certain hardware to validate the install - IE: Dell - you can only install on a Dell - and even newer stuff you can only install on a certain type of Dell. lol After talking with a co-worker he's said that once it's been tagged - you wont get any updates and such but you can operate it... Although that may make any other MS software you put on that particular machine 'invalid' too! I'd suggest you head over to the MS Windows 7 forums and see what they can do for you.
