	Our plant has 2MW running load. Our local power supply company charges a very huge amount if the load is increased beyond 2MW. They call that type of load as MDI. Can any body explain what MDI stands for?

	If you are getting charged for exceeding your DMA then there's 2 ways forward. 1/ Re-negotiate the companies Maximum Demand 2/ Automatic load shedding when MDA is approached 2 involves some quite complex metering arrangements and shedding load may cause problems with your process. __________________ The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.

	Yes. It is MDA "Max Demand Allowed" not MDI. __________________ Don't assume any thing, always check/ask and clear yourself

	Remove some load from the connected meter and obtain a separate meter for it or use a genset for that excess load __________________ pnaban

	MDI= maximum demand indicator. It will show your plants maximum load (KW) and if it exceeds your sanctioned load, you are in for a penalty as per most of the regulatory acts, even if your average load (based on KWH or MWH are well within the sanction)

	MDI Stand for (Maximum demand Indicator) when u taken cpower connection from any company thay asked about your peek load and u r limted to use power under your maximum demand, so you may contact again to company and change your maximum demand again, and installed in your factory energy meter with MDI system which will indicate about your load so u can control your panalty,
