Domestic Water Heater Cum Cooler (HECO)

09/09/2010 10:13 AM

We want to develop a new concept of water heater & cooler in one. In the hot climate areas, in summer the tap water temprature reaches 40 deg C, & is unbearable to even wash your hands, bating is out of question.

Evert house has 50/80 gal Water heater fitted in the bathrooms, but no collers. We want to develop a tank which will dispense both hot & cold water. the incoming cold water( Which is naturally hot should be cooled to required level. & the bath ,tap or shower mixers should be used to achive the right comfortable temprature.

This technology is available for bulk (5Gal) drinking water dispensers, so the new develoment will require mimal study.

I am looking for a partner to develop a proto type & then we will have the production done from our factories.

Your incoming water supply shouldn't be that hot. The pipes if buried underground will stay a constant temperature. In my country, the water supply is around 15° C all year round because the ground provides insulation. Pipes are buried at least 2 feet (61cm),

The technology already exists. It's called a "refrigerator". The problem is, the energy input to cool the water (or anything else) is expensive and expending energy to cool the water just to wash your hands and bottom more comfortably is extremely wasteful.

I wouldn't expect this to be a big seller...

An evaporative cooler would be more economical, but it will cool the water only to near the wet-bulb temperature.
