  • What's in the tank?
  • What's its temperature and pressure?
  • What is the tank roof made of?
  • What is the insulation material?
  • What does the tank manufacturer recommend?
  • Why is jacketing the tank an afterthought?
  • Etc.

It's a Crude oil tank, Max working temp of 110 deg cent, Material of construction is carbon steel, Insulation material is LRB Rockwool 38mm thick. Tank manufacturer recommends 0.5 mm thk aluminum sheet for jacketing secured with self tapping SS screws at 150 mm pitch.

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations, then.

  • Who put the insulation on?
  • What is the thickness of the insulation?
  • Why did this operation not put the jacketing on as well?
  • What do local Planning laws say about the appearance of the tank?
  • What restrictions on finish colour are there?
  • Etc.
